Eduventure Students in a Rain Forest

"Encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called today, lest any of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."

The desire of the EduVenture Alumni association is to provide an ongoing discipleship and community for Eduventure Alumni and to foster the growth of a global community of responsible world Christians.

Our values include:

  • The enjoyment of GOD
  • Simple lifestyle
  • Disciplines for daily growth
  • Perseverance
  • Unity in the Body Christ.

As Jesus asked, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed blown by the wind?" Certainly we did go for the adventure, for the experience. But more than that, as we went our lives were changed. If not, then perhaps EduVenture has in some way failed.

More than the pig's tusk and malaria, you should have brought home with you a broader perspective of the world. And this should effect the way that you live and grow for the rest of your life. The stories can be told only so many times, and the pictures will eventually fade.

Don't leave the questions. Remember the child content with one set of clothes, no shoes, and perhaps a homemade sling shot. Remember the evangelists who live and die for the gospel with no knowledge of powerpoint or even flannel graph. Remember the Dani man waking next to you at 4 a.m. and praying on his face. Remember to stop and notice the wonder of God's creation around you. Remember to play and glorify God by enjoying Him forever.

Don't leave the family. When you signed up for EduVenture, you were adopted into a family (and not just the Wisley's!). You're experience is unique, and you experienced it with a few others (chosen by God) who became your family for a short time in your life. Don't forget your sisters and brothers who cared for you, prayed for you, ate with you, slept with you, crossed rivers and climbed trees with you. Continue to process and struggle over these questions with us, pray for us, support and lean on us. We are your family.

And remember: "To whom much is given, much is required." God has invested in you. Put his 'talents' to work so when he returns you can give back to Him what he has given you with interest. "Walk worthy of the calling wherewith you have been called..."
