Eduventure Fiji

Our Campus: Sau Bay, Vanua Levu

EduVenture Fiji is located at Nasau Bay (Sau) on the island of Vanua Levu, the second largest island in Fiji. Although it's a big island, Sau feels very remote because there are no roads to it. We rely completely upon boats and the sea to get around. A benefit of this is that we are always trolling for fish whenever we go shopping, to church, etc. It's an exciting way to travel!

Sau includes a beautiful sandy beach, dogs and cats, dozens of chickens, a herd of cows, 52 acres of coconut plantation and "bush" (mostly growing wild except for the fitness trail you'll hike each week), and a pristine bay (great for snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing and spear fishing).

Image descriptionThe best part about Sau is our little community of believers here. Bob and Sotia Covert are our Fijian hosts at Sau. John Tiu and his family live here as well. You will grow to love our families and feel like part of the family yourself! Fijian hospitality is unrivaled.

You'll live in a simple wooden dorm with four rooms with bunks, cooled by louvered windows and lit at night by kerosene lanterns. Showers at the bath house are outdoors, open to the stars and the swaying palm trees above. If it rains, you don't need to turn on the tap! Your classroom/kitchen area will be the focal point of your academic and social life at Sau as you eat, worship, study and fellowship together. Classes and activities are hands-on and application-oriented.

Image descriptionPast students have described Sau as, "magical," a "stronghold for God's kingdom here on earth", and "home". Come discover the blessings and challenges of island-living firsthand with us. Just watch out for falling coconuts!
