Our site is in the small village of Bokondini, in the highlands of the Island of New Guinea, about 4-10 hours drive (depending on rain) northwest of Wamena. Wamena is the nearest town in the highlands.

Simplicity, Isolation, Community, Adventure, Cross Cultural Immersion, Discipleship, Life Change... all integral parts of your EduVenture semester.

Prepare yourself for:

• Highland Trekking (straight up, straight down for days on end in one of the most beautiful ranges in the world)


• Jungle River Trekking


• Beach Adventure (Surfing or Snorkeling depending on waves, possibly both) and, intense Cross-Cultural Adventures.

CROSS-CULTURAL IMMERSION

All the adventures will be a blast, but the cultural adventures will be the highlight of the semester.

Night hunting for Cuscus with Yeli and Yeri using your homemade slingshot that Yeli taught you to make and shoot.

Digging Cassava with Delianti and then cooking it for dinner.

Learning to make fire the Papuan way. Preparing a rabbit for lunch with Alberth.

COMMUNITY

Living in the dorm together, learning a bunch of tribal songs and learning from your Papuan brothers and sisters with whom you will form lifelong friendships during 15 weeks of immersion.

PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

Not only will you be learning but you will be teaching what you know. Your daily conversations in English will be one of the best gifts you can offer.
