Our Campus: Huapoca Ranch

Chihuahua, Mexico

Image descriptionEVM offers you the opportunity to experience extreme growth in Christ in the dramatic setting of the Sierra Madre Mountains, a perfect place for a semester of simple living with lots of activities outdoors, including several multi-level climbing and bouldering crags right on our campus!

Image descriptionThe settings for our classes are as dynamic as their content: Sometimes we meet in our main activity room, somtimes out on Stone Table (pictured), sometimes out on the porch, and sometimes we even teach/learn as we ride our horses through rough terrain or hike to a good rock-climbing spot!

Image descriptionEVM will give you a taste of Mexican ranch life with a mountaineering twist. You’ll learn how to ride and take care of horses, help in cattle drives, and partake in the wrestling, branding and other painful things cowboys do to steers.

Playing in the water is also a part of your time here, so we start you off with a white-water rafting trip, pausing only for some cliff-jumping. We also hike and camp at beautiful Basaseachi National Park, with one of the highest free-fall waterfalls in the Americas.

Winter TrekkingAlong with many other camping opportunities, EVM integrates a multi-day trek that will challenge you and build you up. Intense river-crossings and extreme terrain will challenge your leadership and teamwork skills - guaranteed!

Mexico CampusOur campus is a 1.5 hour-drive on a dirt road over a mountain range from a small logging town. Find the city of Chihuahua on the map, go northwest into the mountains until you find the town of Madera , then go west until you hit the Papigochi river... there you are!
