Board of Directors

Benjamin Scott Wisley - Scotty is the founder and current director of EduVenture. Scotty was born and lived in Thailand and Malaysia until he moved to the U.S. to go to Wheaton College. After living in Japan for a few years, he got a Masters degree in Community Development from Eastern Graduate School. He began setting up EduVenture in Indonesia in 1995 and brought out the first group of students in the fall of 1997. Scotty and Heidi were married in December of that year, and they now have 2 children – Walker and Arwen. They currently live in Papua, Indonesia.

Dave and Doris

David Strong - David is an MK from the Philippines and Malaysia. He graduated from Wheaton College in 1990 and finished his Master's in Economic Development from Eastern College in 1997, after working in Taiwan (teaching English) and Cambodia (managing a primary health care project). He met, Doris, who was working at an international school in Malaysia, in 1995 and they got married one year later. The Strongs have been been involved in a variety of church-based community development activities (agriculture, nutrition, discipleship) in northwestern Cambodia since 1997. They have one son, Matthew.

U.S. Staff

Thomas N. Wisley - Tom is our Academic Director. He and his wife Sandi have been an integral part of EduVenture from the begining of the ministry. Before EV was conceived by their son Scotty, they served for several years under the Division of International Ministries of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Thailand and Cambodia. Tom has also taught at Simpson College , Biola University, the Alliance Biblical Seminary in the Philippines, Seattle Pacific University, and Tokyo Christian University in Japan. Tom and Sandi have 4 children - 3 boys and one girl.

Danielle Tavarez - Dani is our student recruiter and coordinator. She’s a graduate of Eastern University and an alumnus of EduVenture Indonesia (Fall ‘98). She majored in Youth Ministries and served as Youth Director at her home church for over 7 years in Howell, NJ. She and her husband Alex reside in Middlesex, NJ, where her husband is a full-time Youth Director.
